Marriage is
the union of two people by rites or legal formalities and that is recognized by
law as a family. Until a few years ago
it was considered essential that marriage should be formed by a woman and a
man, but in recent times has changed the thinking and today there are same-sex
marriage.
In fact in
Chile until a year ago homosexual couples were not entitled to marry, and only
on 13 April 2015, the law of "agreement civil union" is approved,
allowing two people living or decide to live together they may have a contract
to regularize juridical aspects of an affective life in common, stable and permanent.
I agree
with the "Civil Union Act" as it will put an end to discrimination
and lack of protection for cohabiting couples, whether same or opposite sex. A
heterosexual or homosexual others have the same right to live our sexuality
freely and spontaneously.
